1977 Penton GS6 125
This bike is the creation of the very talented Kip Kern. As most POG members can that verify
that Kip's work is second to none. This bike is so nice that Ron "The sheriff" Carbaugh insisted it
come to the collection. The attention to detail will overwhelm you. From the correct Barum tires
to the correct magura levers and grips not one detail is wrong. The 1977 was the final year of
production for Penton before they became KTM. Over the years Penton used engines from Sachs,
Hiro and finally the KTM powerplant. As you can tell, the KTM hub assemblies were a marked
improvement. The suspension was handled by the quality products of Marzocchi.
This bike was known as the "West Coast 125" by Penton fans. The GS 6 was a great, reliable
and very attractive bike. Thank you Kip and Ron for providing this awesome bike. We will
surely enjoy it.
