1977 Suzuki RM 125
This bike is a great example of the 1976 Suzuki RM 125. It is a museum quality restoration.
The 1976 was the 3rd generation RM and the first to feature an up exhaust. Now what makes
this year so rare is the side panels. Please note the slots in them to cool the rear shocks.
I'm sure they did nothing except look very cool. most restorations miss this very important
item. Also the forks have an inline axle and starting with the 77 model they changed to a
leading axle front fork.
These bikes were always in a constant state of technology change. The 1976 is the second
most collectable RM behind only the 1st generation RM 1975 because of the limited run.
People have placed the 76 side panels on other models to try and increase their perceived
value but real Suzuki fans cant be fooled. This being the final use of the inline forks
and the adoption of up exhausts welcomed in a new era of technology. To RM fans the
first generation RM,
and this bike are the holy grail of RMs. Thank you Ron Carbaugh for this beautiful bike.
